Well a very very Happy New Year my fabulous Miscelainey followers, did you have a lovely festive time? I did and although it was busy busy and I had to work at my other job a few days during the festive time (that’s a first for me and have to admit, was a bit weird), I had a lovely time!!! I’m so used to working on my old Dubai Mum schedule where everything stops for holidays. Change is always good though isn’t it and it does make you realise the old and new.

So what are today’s musings !! Well, firstly I’d like to apologise for not writing for rather a long time (November according to my wee webysite, cheers elaineluck.com for that wee reminder). Life seemed to take over a touch with work, school, Air bnb in our house stuff stuff stuff. And guess what

I DIDN’T PRIORITISE WHAT I LIKE DOING – THIS!!!

There, I said it, it’s easy to pass on words of (cough cough) wisdom isn’t it but sometimes it’s hard to notice that you’ve not actually been authentic (fabulous word du jour) and followed your own advice. So please do accept my apologies for the lack of musings but they are going to be back with a vengeance if you’re actually bothered or had even noticed lol. So as Miranda Hart says “On with the show chums”.

RAINBOWS & RESOLUTION – what is she going to blabber on about now. Well, actually I’m going to start with Resolutions (it just didn’t sound right saying Resolutions & Rainbows, but maybe that’s me just being weird).

Do you like the word ‘RESOLUTIONS’ ? I don’t think I do. ‘What do you mean, you don’t know! I hear you cry. At your age, surely you must know”. Actually no I don’t and I think that’s one of the things that we forget as we get older, it’s OK NOT TO KNOW or in fact, TO CHANGE YOUR MIND. Life is constantly evolving so why the f… (apologies) should we always know. People always talk about being a parent, that you aren’t given a manual well hey, who gave out the life ones! Did I miss that Amazon delivery !!! I do believe that we are born with a path that lies ahead but there are so many variables that happen each day, so many choices that we make, that we take tiny different steps all the time, so again, IT’S OK NOT TO KNOW & TO CHANGE YOUR MIND.

Bugger I have digressed once again. Back to the word RESOLUTION. No, I don’t think I like it as to me, it feels like it has stress behind it and rather negative connotations. It sounds like you messed up last year and like my old school reports “Could do better” so you’d better resolve to make it better this year – Sod off !!! Maybe you did mess up and maybe you didn’t, but you lived it and it was great and the now and the future will all be great so why put a negative spin on it. I didn’t look after myself properly last year and as some of you know (yawn yawn yawn yes I know), I ended up in a wee coma for a few days. Kind of negative and yes it was a ‘nightmare’ to those loved ones around (was reminded a few times by the Father over the holidays), BUT it has made me sit up and realise how short life can be and HOW PRECIOUS and the girl and I DID get to ride in an ambulance and yes they did put the flashers and sirens on for us – now that’s something I haven’t done before, new experiences are always good (but hopefully won’t do again).

The positives are there so I’m not going to say I messed up and resolve to do better, I’m NOT going to say “Here are my resolutions, what are yours” because we are fabulous the way we are and would we be just setting ourselves up to feel failure (note to feel, not to be a f……),  if I/we don’t stick to them, what’s the point, apart from feeling crap? Some things we may succeed, some we may not but it will all be for the RIGHT reasons – unless you’re munching on a box of After 8’s following your proclamation that one of your New Year Resolutions is to give up chocolate FOREVER – ‘madness I tell you, madness’. Man, where was that quote from ???? Can’t remember at the mo.

So henceforth, I shall have NO new year resolutions BUT I WILL make some changes and those ‘wills’ become ‘am’s’ then they are out there for the universe to see, accept and make real. I AM looking after myself better this year – food, exercise, sleep, relaxation – and ALL that WORKS FOR ME, not what someone on the tv says unless it is the fabulous & gorgeous Dr Ranjan Chatterjee who speaks my language (more on him another day), I AM spending more time doing what I want to do, I AM making time to work on my beloved Health Coaching business and I AM spending as much time in my lovely kitchen ‘playing’ as I want and boring you to death with it. All mixed in with I AM spending time with my lovely family and fabulous friends and I AM doing allthe other things in the piccie – life is for enjoyment Rainbows NOT Resolutions. (ps. if resolutions DO work for you, go for it, crack on and make them work for you, just make it all positive)

So RAINBOWS – really !!! Yes really, I love rainbows (and butterflies, but that’s for another day too). One of my best friends is thinking of using rainbow colours for her logo and I think it’s fab – so positive. Anywho, I’m not going to spend toooooooo long on the RAINBOWS as you may well be asleep by now, however, all I want to say is, see your WHOLE life in RAINBOW. Look at all the colours around you, even on the greyest, pissiest day, there is colour out there. I’ve taken the bus to work over the holidays as hubster was back so I left him the car and it really is true, there is a big wide colourful world out there that when you’re driving, you sometimes just don’t see.

When it comes to clothes, wear the RAINBOW and all at once if you feel like it, I have a bit of a uniform of blue, navy followed by blue with a dash of white in there with some brown boots but one of the holiday days I wore bright red and felt bloody fantastic !!! I do look shit in yellow though so I’m never wearing that!

FOOD – obviously you MUST know that this is my all time passion and I want you to know the BIG SECRET- the easiest way for you to be and stay healthy is to EAT the Rainbow (no that’s not a new choccy bar, if it is, someone tell me please). Next time you are in the supermarket, stay away from the ‘Supermarket Sweep’ style of shopping – do you remember that programme with Dale Winton, I bloody loved it and watched it on my Uni skive days (obviously there was only 1 or 2), but could never understand how everyone on it were such BAD shoppers, I should have entered, I would’ve cost them a fortune!!! I am in heaven in a supermarket – saddo that I am.

ANYWAY, get yourself into the fruit and veg aisles (preferably Organic but it can be tricky), STOP and JUST LOOK at all the COLOURS. All those fresh fruits and veggies are different colours for a reason, we need different things in our bodies and NATURE provides them. I’m going to do another wee bloggy about that soon as it’s soooooo important to EAT the RAINBOW, but can be quite new info to some and deserves it’s own space. Once you start to see it, aim to get your plate – breakfast (or smoothie), lunch & dinner to be as COLOURFUL as at all possible. Who gives a shit about how many grams of this and that are in it, if it’s natural, go for as many colours as poss and you’ll be banging those nutrients into your body like nobody’s business, your immune system really will thank you for it. There’s nothing worse than a beige plate (I’m not even giving it capitals, bold, or italic status as it’s too bland !!!).

So my darlings, fear not the resolutions, go forth, make any changes you feel you WANT TO but do it all with style, BE THE RAINBOW – hhhmmmm does that sound a bit hippyish, ah well bugger it, embrace your inner hippy !!!

Have a fabulous weekend (yes it’s coming round again) and I WILL be back soon.
